Foley Animal Ordinance

In October of 2010 the City of Foley submitted the new Foley Animal Ordinance 1143-10 which is to help with the keeping of dogs, cats, and domesticated animals within the city limits. The Foley Police are the noted persons to enforce the ordinance. 

Please take the time to read the entire ordinance from the City of Foley. Our HOA will follow the city's guidelines.

Neighborly Pet Information

When walking your pets around the neighborhood, please be a good neighbor and pick up any feces that your pet leaves during their walk.

You should also pick up your pets' feces in the Glenlakes common areas. This will help keep our areas clean. Thank you!

The City of Foley and the State of Alabama has a leash law which must be followed. They must be appropriately confined at all times, either with a leash when off the property or other means to keep them within an owner's property. A dog owner may be fined if failing to follow the leash law.

Parking

Parking overnight in the street is prohibited.

Parking boats and motorhomes has been addressed in the Glenlakes Unit 1 HOA documents. Boat and motorhome parking, in your driveway, is permitted 3 times a month in 2 day increments. 

 

Trash, Recycling, and Yard Debris

The City of Foley provides services to pick-up the wheeled trash cans from the end of the driveway. The designated weekly trash pick-up day for our neighborhood is Tuesdays. 

Wednesday is the designated recycling pick-up day. Recycling cans or bins should be placed at the end of the driveway.

Quick reference: Trash & recycling cans should not be visible from the street. If they are kept outside, an approved covering (Bushes, Wood wall, Plastic wall, etc..) should be utilized for the cans not to be visible from the street.

American Flags

The Optimist Club of Foley does a flag program in Glenlakes. If you would like to join your neighbors and have an American Flag put up in your front yard each flag holiday throughout the year, contact the Optimist Club of Foley directly.

They would need your name and address. The year runs from October through September and they invoice in October for the year by mail.

Annual HOA Meeting Information

March is the designated month for the annual HOA member meeting. 

This is the best time for the entire community to gather, discuss important matters of the neighborhood & city, and vote on a variety of things.

Notices are handed out prior to the meeting & a new email communication will also be sent out the month prior with details.

Feel free to bring your concerns and questions to this annual meeting.

NOTE: you can also bring your concerns to a board member throughout the year.

Glenlakes Walking Information

Please be aware that walking on the streets of Glenlakes is encouraged and drivers are to be aware of walkers at all times of the day. 

Walkers should also be aware of drivers who are not familiar with our neighborhood walking community. 

For your safety, the Glenlakes Golf cart paths and grassy areas are not to be used for walking exercise. The streets and sidewalks throughout the neighborhood should be used for dog walking and personal exercise. Thank you!
